Beijing olympic protest

Beijing Olympics 2008 torch relay has seen enough protest throughout the world, to grab the attention of some influential individuals such as French presidential candidate François Bayrou, actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Mia Farrow, to name a few. They have given their support the recent protest by Tibetans. Read about recent Human rights violation as result of Olympics, from wikipedia. Pro-Tibetans have used this opportunity to get attention of international society.

Track Olympic Torch Relay

Now track Beijing Olympic torch relay with Google Maps. It is simply the next, best alternative to Google Earth. Get this map here at Google Maps and Google Earth users can track the Olympic torch relay by downloading this file, here at Google Earth.




Currently (11th April 2008) it is at Buenos Aires, Argentina and above video shows the arrival and torch relay throughout the city. Significance of this relay is that, this is the first time in Olympic history that the Olympic flame passed through the Latin American city.

One-year Beijing Olympic count down

China is racing to finish all the final works, to host the anticipated 2008 Olympics. On 8th August 2007, China celebrated the one-year count down for the Olympics. In 2004, China began four-year countdown. A giant clock was installed in Tiananmen Square. Click here to visit official website of Chinese Olympic committee.

Second world pyro Olympics

The second world pyro Olympics was hosted by Philippines. China participated on 13th January 2007. The United Kingdom won the 2007 competition and the team from China won the People's Choice Award for technical excellence.
