The pulitzer price for photography
Breaking news photography for the year 2007,the Pulitzer award was given to Oded Balilty of The Associated Press for his powerful photo on a single Jewish woman who protest against Israeli security forces as they remove illegal settlers in the West Bank.
Though the huge mass show their protest against the Israeli security forces by throwing stones, the woman in the photo handles herself the forces all alone. The woman’s protest is clearly portrayed.
Feature photography price was awarded to Awarded to Renée C. Byer of The Sacramento Bee for her intimate portrayal of a single mother and her young son as he loses his battle with cancer.
This is a series of photos of a mother caring for her son, who is diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma. The photos depict the hope, love, care and tactfulness of the mother in handling her son. The photos show hard it is when loved ones get very sick. These photos are not made for winning the price, but they are true. A real life situation is photographed. When you finish seeing the photos you will have tearful eyes…
